The International Grains Program is the global training center in the areas of flour milling and grain processing, feed manufacturing and grain management, and grain purchasing and risk management where participants come to gain knowledge about the latest techniques and marketing strategies. IGP faculty and staff focus on offering continuing educational and professional development programming.
Established in 1978 by Kansas State University’s Department of Grain Science and Industry, IGP’s mission is to provide innovative and relevant education and technical programs to enhance the market preference, consumption and utilization of U.S. cereal grains, oilseeds and their value-added products for the global grain industry.
In 2012, we trained 855 industry personnel representing 47 countries in 42 trainings. IGP works closely with individuals, companies and industry organizations to develop and empower professionals in the grain and oilseeds industries. This is accomplished with courses on the Kansas State University campus, at off-site locations per customer request as well as via our peer-reviewed, accreditation-backed distance education program.
