Now is the perfect time to sit back and enjoy an Ice Cream Sundae with some Red Wine. Chef Alli enjoyed meeting Scott Kohl and Candace at 456-Wineries in Wamego, Kansas. Learn more about their wineries and unique programs by watching them on KAKE TV.

We had to find out what these wine sundaes were all about! A wine sundae sounds a bit unusual but it’s very easy and delicious: a scoop of your favorite ice cream, sugar, a cinnamon stick, dark chocolate pieces, and of course 456 Wineries Sweet Rosé Wine. The sauce is to DIE FOR and so simple to make!

Ice Cream Sundaes with Summation Red Wine Chocolate Sauce and Raspberries

Makes 2 cups

1 cup 456 Wineries Summation Sweet Rosé Wine

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ tsp. kosher salt

1 cinnamon stick

1 star anise

2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate pieces

your favorite vanilla ice cream

Fresh raspberries, mint sprigs, and small wafer or sandwich cookies, as garnishments

In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the wine, sugar, and salt to a simmer; add the cinnamon stick and star anise, simmering for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and add the chocolate pieces, gently whisking until the sauce is smooth and glossy.

Let the chocolate sauce cool to room temperature, then serve over vanilla ice cream that has been spooned into wine glasses. Garnish with mint, berries, and cookies; serve at once.
